Description
A terrace of three cottages, likely originally a single dwelling, located on Buxhall Church Road. Numbers 1 and 2 date from the early 17th century and have undergone considerable alteration. Number 1 is timber-framed and plastered, with a brick-faced gable end and outshuts to the front and back, all beneath pantiled roofs. Number 2 has a thatched roof. Sparepenny cottage dates from the 19th century and is constructed of flint rubble with a pantiled roof. Numbers 1 and 2 are single-story with an attic. The fenestration is scattered and consists of 20th-century casement windows. Number 2 features two 20th-century dormers, a 20th-century porch, and a boarded door. A red brick stack sits between numbers 1 and 2. The frame within Number 2 retains stop-chamfered beams with run-out stops. Number 1 has a 20th-century entrance door. Sparepenny cottage is included on the listing for group value.
