Description
Stow Park is a 16th century farmhouse located on Flixton Road near Constitution Hill. The building has an older section that remains largely unaltered, featuring a four-centred oak door and frame, as well as a spiral staircase that leads from the ground floor to the attic. The structure is timber-framed with an overhanging first floor, a plastered exterior, and a brick ground floor. The roof is covered with tiles and slates. The entrance front has late 18th century stucco on a brick base and is two stories high with a hipped slate roof. It features three sash windows with flush frames, a six-panel door, and a Doric porch. Historical references indicate that Stow Park was mentioned in a 1307 Inquisition and that Roman pottery and Norman stone mouldings have been found on the site.
