Description

The ruins located to the east of South Elmham Hall are situated on the inner edge of the moat. These remains are thought to be from either a chapel or a gatehouse, although there is no definitive evidence to support either claim. The ruins likely date back to the 14th century and are primarily constructed from rubble flint, with some small red bricks included. The most prominent feature is the northwest gable wall, which still stands at full height and includes two rectangular window openings. Additionally, part of the side walls remains, suggesting that the building may have had an upper floor.
