Description
81 The Green is a cottage from the 18th century, located next to No. 82 on the right. It has one and a half storeys and is rendered, likely over brick, with a roof of clay pantiles. There is an end chimney stack on the left with a plain red brick shaft, and beyond it, there is a single-storey lean-to extension that matches the main structure. The upper floor features two old 2-light casement windows, while the ground floor has one casement window with a segmental arched head to its frame and surround. The recessed plank door also has a similar arched head. Inside, the ground-floor room includes a main beam with a small chamfer and joists set on edge, and an open fireplace with a timber lintel. At the rear, there is a long single-storey outbuilding made of colourwashed clay lump with clay pantiles, which was formerly detached but has now been linked to the cottage. The cottage is included for its group value.
