Description

The Town Hall in Newmarket is an 18th-century building that has undergone some alterations. It is designed as an elongated octagon and stands two storeys tall. The structure is made of red brick and features a pantile roof. The windows are pointed paned casements set in square openings, and there is a Tudor-style entrance with a drip mould. Inside, the Mayor's Parlour contains valuable historical records relating to Beccles. The Town Hall is part of a significant central group of buildings located around the "island" in Newmarket.
