Description

Nos 136 and 138 on Castle Street are a pair of 18th-century houses built in 1852. They are three stories tall, constructed of red brick, with an eaves soffit and a hipped slate roof. The front features three sash windows with glazing bars and exposed frames, set beneath flat arches. A central bow window has a wrought iron railing and a French window that leads to a balcony above. The entrance to No 136 is a nine-panel door, while No 138 has what seems to be the main entrance, featuring a six-panel door in a one-story brick addition on the return. Nos 87, 136 to 140 (even) form a group.
