Description

Whitehouse Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with a later service range added to the rear. The building is timber framed and plastered, featuring modern concrete pantiles on the main range and clay pantiles on the service range. The main range consists of two cells and stands two storeys high with an attic. It has two windows, which are 20th-century small-paned casements with curved bays on the ground floor. There is an internal stack at the rear that has been rebuilt and features an inset panel. The service range has been extended with colourwashed brick and includes a mid-20th-century entrance door. Inside, there is some good exposed framing on the first floor of the main range, along with original ovolo-moulded mullioned windows. One of the bedrooms contains a 19th-century fireplace with an elaborate overmantel in neo-Jacobean style.
