Description
Smithy Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century to early 19th century. It is constructed from coralline crag with yellow brick dressings and has a glazed pantiled roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic and features a three-window range with three-light casements, flat brick arches, and a square blank centre panel. The central doorway has a four-panel door and a semi-circular panel above, which may be a blocked fanlight. There is a brick band at the first floor level and a cornice with three oversailing courses of brickwork. The house has a central internal stack.
