Description
Abbey Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th century or early 17th century. It has an L-shaped plan, with the west wing likely being the older part. A further wing was added to the north during extensive renovations in 1971-1972. The building features exposed timber framing, with some brick and flint walling on the ground floor, while the modern wing is constructed of white brick. The entire structure has a thatched roof. It is two storeys tall with an attic, while the modern wing is single storey with an attic. The south elevation has a range of five windows, featuring mid-20th century three-light small pane casements. There is a wide gabled porch with a boarded door, all added in 1971-1972, along with three eyebrow dormers, the center one being particularly large with a seven-light window. The farmhouse has one internal stack and one gable end stack on the west side.
