Description
Whitehouse Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the early 19th century, incorporating some elements from the 18th century or earlier. It has a later range at the rear, creating an L-shaped plan. The building is made of colourwashed brick and features a hipped pantiled roof. There are pilaster strips at the quoins, with the left one being slightly inset. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has five windows, which are inset sashes with glazing bars set under flat brick arches. Two of the first-floor windows are dummies. The central doorway has a six-panel door, slender sidelights, and a rectangular fanlight with intersecting semi-circular glazing bars. The porch is designed in the Roman Doric style, featuring fluted columns and an entablature with triglyphs and guttae. There are matching stacks in the roof hips, and some brickwork from the 18th century or earlier is visible on the left side wall.
