Description

Blue Barn Farmhouse is a house that was formerly a farmhouse, dating from the 17th century. It is timber framed with brick and rendered, colour-washed facing, and has a pantile roof. The building has two storeys and a single storey with an attic, featuring a T-shaped plan.

On the entrance front, there is a projecting gabled wing on the right, which has a 19th-century brick facing. This wing includes a ground floor 2-light casement window with a flat head, situated within a blocked doorway, and a single-light casement window to the left. The first floor has two 2-light casement windows, and the gable above features a diamond pattern with the date 1868 in light headers. To the left, in the re-entrant angle, there is a 20th-century porch with a lean-to roof and a 6-panel door. The recessed wing to the left contains two 20th-century 2-light windows, and at the far left is a 20th-century glazed door. The attic has two gabled half-dormer windows, each with 2 casement lights. On the right side, there are two 2-light windows on the first floor, with the ground floor window on the right dating from the 20th century, while the others are from the 19th century.

At the rear, the projecting gabled wing on the left features a 3-light ground floor window from the 20th century and two 2-light casement windows on the first floor. There is an outshut in the re-entrant angle with two 2-light ground floor casements and a half-glazed door on the far right, next to a 2-light casement window. The first floor on the left includes a raking half-dormer window with 2 lights. The roof has a chimney stack at the centre and another on the left.

Inside, the ground floor has chamfered ceiling beams and rafters.
