Description
Nos 57 and 59 on New Street are a late 18th-century pair of buildings, possibly a refronting of an older structure, which were remodeled between 1976 and 1978. The buildings are two storeys high with an attic and originally had three windows, now there are five. They feature a plain tile mansard roof, and the former ridge stacks have been removed. The exterior is made of red brick, with a plinth and a wooden cornice with dentils.
The windows have gauged flat brick arches and are architraved sash windows with glazing bars. The outer bays have new windows at ground floor level that replaced former doorways. The paired entrances, which were added during the 1976-78 remodeling, have round-arched doorways with fanlights and six-panelled doors.
