Description

The Bridewell is a pair of almshouses dating from the 16th century. They are two stories high and feature a half-timbered construction with brick nogging and plastered surfaces. The buildings have a brick plinth and an overhanging first floor at the west end. Notable architectural features include some original 16th-century window openings with four-centred arches and carved spandrels, as well as an arched entrance door.
