Description

The Post Office and adjoining house in Alpheton is a timber-framed and plastered building dating from the 17th to 18th century, with the year 1738 inscribed in the gable of one of the dormers. The structure has one storey and attics, featuring a two-window range with casement windows. A modern gabled porch extends from the front, and there is a 20th-century single-storey addition that houses a shop at the west end. The main roof is thatched and includes two gabled dormers along with a central chimney stack. The west addition has a 20th-century pantiled roof.
