Description

Toppesfield Bridge is a 14th-century bridge located south of the town, crossing the river Brett. It is constructed of red brick, with some brick and stone elements that appear to be of an earlier date. The north-west side has undergone significant restoration and renewal. The bridge features three slightly pointed arches, and on the south-east side, there are four internal ribs. Each side has a low parapet topped with brick tiles, which is finished at both ends with octagonal brick piers that have later iron caps and ball finials.
