Description

Great Green House is a 16th-century timber-framed and plastered building, likely with an earlier core. A west-facing cross wing displays exposed timber framing on its north and south sides, with the upper storey projecting outwards (jettied) on the north side. A more modern wing adjoins the west end. The roof is tiled, featuring a ridge chimney stack with four octagonal shafts, each having moulded caps and bases on a square base, and an ornamental tiled panel. The facade has five windows, each a 19th-century double-hung sash with single vertical glazing bars. Inside, the building retains exposed timber framing and notable Tudor brick fireplaces.
