Description

Laurel Cottage is a 16th-century timber-framed and plastered building with an early 19th-century block of gault brick added to the north-west side. The cottage is two storeys high. The front elevation has a three-window arrangement of double-hung sash windows with glazing bars, set in plain reveals. The central bay, encompassing a single window, projects slightly and rises above the level of the eaves. The windows and doorway are framed within an elliptical-headed recessed panel. A six-panel door, topped with a fanlight, is set within a wooden doorcase featuring panelled reveals, fluted half columns, and a cornice. The slate roof is hipped and has a modillion eaves cornice.
