Description

Tye Cottage is a small timber-framed and plastered house located in Great Cornard. It features characteristics from the 18th century but includes an earlier timber frame, likely from the 17th century. A later addition extends from the south end of the building. The date 1777 is marked into the plaster of the dormer gables. The cottage has one storey and attics, with casement windows and boarded doors. The roof is tiled and has two gabled dormers on the main block and one gabled dormer on the addition.
