Description
Poplars Farmhouse is a 16th to 17th century timber-framed and plastered house located in Great Cornard. It features a cross wing at the south-west end and stands two storeys tall. The upper storey jetties out over the entire south-east front, while the gable at the north-east end also jetties on shaped and carved brackets. The windows are casements, and the roof is tiled. A prominent central chimney stack has four grouped octagonal shafts with moulded caps and bases, resting on a square base. At the south-west end, there is a tall external chimney stack with two short octagonal stacks, also featuring moulded caps and bases. Inside, the house showcases exposed timber-framing. The property underwent renovation and restoration in 1975.
