Description

Spout House is a timber-framed house dating from the 16th to 17th century, which has been restored and renovated in the 20th century. The timber-framing is exposed on all sides, with some sections renewed. The upper storey features diagonal bracing, showcasing a distinctive East Anglian technique of tenoning the brace into the upright stud rather than into the bressummer. The house has two storeys and a three-window range of 20th century casements with lattice leaded lights. The roof is steeply pitched and covered with old tiles. The south-west end of the building has been largely rebuilt.
