Description

Nos. 27 and 28 in Lavenham Marketplace is a timber-framed and plastered building dating from the 15th to 16th century. It features exposed timber-framing and has a tiled roof. The building stands two storeys high, with the upper storey jettied on exposed joists and a carved bressumer. There are two ranges of restored bar and transom lattice leaded casements. This property was donated to the Lavenham Preservation Society by Sir Cuthbert Quilter, the former owner of the Guildhall, and is currently owned by the National Trust. It is graded as part of the Guildhall range.
