Description
The building consists of a barn, stable, and cartlodge at Green Farm, dating from the 18th century. The structure is timber-framed and weatherboarded, covered with triple Roman tiles. The barn features five bays, with a frame that includes a middle rail, primary braces bisecting the studs, and tie-beams with bolted kneed braces. It has a clasped purlin roof without principal rafters, with the bays formed by seven collars spaced along the roof. In the second and sixth bays, straight windbraces bisect the rafters, and there is a ridge piece. An original full-height porch on the north side has the tie-beams of the two adjacent trusses extended to form its wallplates. There is also a lean-to along part of the rear. The stable, located to the right, is a lower three-bay section built with similar materials and framing, incorporating some reused timbers, and features a lean-to calf-pen at the east end. The cartlodge on the left side consists of four bays and has a rear wall made of random red brick. The group is well situated beside a horse pond and is in very good condition. It is included for its group value only.
