Description

The Old Vicarage is a house dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. The original timber-frame and plaster structure was destroyed by fire in the 19th century and subsequently almost entirely rebuilt in flint, with precast stone quoins and dressings. The house features gabled cross wings at the east and west ends, arranged over two storeys and attics. It has a 1:3:1 window arrangement with casement windows. A gabled porch projects from the front facade. The roof is tiled, punctuated by two tall chimney stacks with attached diagonal shafts. The group value of this building lies in its contribution to the architectural character of the area.
