Description

The garden wall to the east of Chilton Hall is a 16th-century structure made of red brick, standing approximately 9 feet high. It is approached by a drive off Waldingfield Road and encloses the garden on the north, south, and west sides. The south side features two Tudor arched recesses, while one remains on the north side. On the west side, there is a Tudor gateway with a four-centred arch set in a moulded brick frame. The wall is topped with a quasi castellated capping, created by pairs of moulded cappings integrated into the brickwork.
