Description

40 and 42 George Street are 17th century, two-storey buildings constructed from timber framing and plaster. They feature thatched roofs with overhanging eaves supported by wooden brackets at the front. A central chimney stack is present, and the date 1663 is displayed on the front. The buildings have flush frame casements, some of which are leaded. On the western side, the timber framing is exposed with brick infilling.
