Description

111 George Street is a 15th-century hall house. The original structure is timber-framed and plastered with tiled roofs. A contemporary cross wing extends to the west, featuring an upper storey that projects on curved brackets to the front, topped with a hipped gable. The ground floor of the west cross wing is faced with brick and flint rubble, while the main block's ground floor is brick. A large external chimney is located on the east side of the cross wing. Internally, remnants of a cross-passage doorway remain, and the roof is open-trussed with fine crown posts and long-arched braces.
