Description

East House is a large house dating from the 18th century, with two substantial wings on the south side that were largely rebuilt or refaced in the 19th century using red brick. The front block is timber-framed and plastered with a tiled roof. It exhibits a good 18th-century refronting in red brick, incorporating a parapet returned around part of each side and a moulded brick cornice. The facade is characterized by seven windows arranged in a 2:3:2 pattern, featuring flush-frame sash windows with glazing bars and flat arches. A central section projects forward, and a porch is centrally located with Doric columns and a pateral frieze. The house likely contains internal features of historical interest. Photographs are held within the National Monuments Record.
