Description

28 George Street is a building with features from the 17th and 18th centuries. The front block displays these characteristics, while the wing extending to the south at the back has exposed timber framing, indicating an earlier construction date. The building is two stories high, timber framed, and plastered, with tiled roofs. The front is finished with pebble-dash and includes a range of three windows with four-light leaded casements. There is a modillion wood eaves cornice and a central chimney stack. The central doorcase is adorned with an enriched pediment supported by consoles, leading to a six-panel door that is approached by steps.
