Description

No 1 Market Place is a timber-framed and plastered building dating from the 18th to 19th century. The south end is faced with brick, and there is a brick wing that extends to the west on Chapel Street. The building has two storeys and features a two-window range of small casements on the east front. The ground storey includes a lean-to shop front addition from the 19th century at the north end, along with a small 19th-century shop window on the south. The main block has a slate roof, while the rear wing is covered with pantiles.
