Description
A 17th-century timber-framed building, largely refronted in the 18th century, comprising Maynscroft and Maynscroft Cottage. Maynscroft retains exposed timber framing with 20th-century brick nogging on the ground storey. A modern lintel is inscribed "1608 restored 1921”. Maynscroft Cottage was refronted in the 18th century, with the south portion featuring 20th-century brick and the north portion 18th-century brick. Renovations were carried out in 1974. The west front of Maynscroft has a two-window range, while the east front has a single-window range, both with 20th-century casement windows designed to resemble 17th-century styles, featuring lattice leaded lights. The ground storey of the west front has old-style shop windows. The adjoining house has a three-window range with double-hung sash windows and glazing bars in shallow reveals; the central window on the first storey is a two-light design. Roofs are tiled, with a gambrel roof at the south end.
