Description

The Row is a range of cottages located on the northeast side of The Green in Newton, dating from the 17th to 18th centuries. These timber-framed and plastered cottages have undergone significant alterations and renovations over the years. Number 5 is faced in red brick, while number 1 features a 20th-century addition at the northwest end. The cottages are one storey high with attics and have casement windows. The roofs are tiled and include seven dormers, three with sloping roofs and four that are gabled. This group of cottages is noted for its collective historical value.
