Description
The barn at Stud Farm, dating from the 18th century, was originally a cow shed and is now used as a potato shed. It is constructed of brick and features a pantiled roof. The opposing entrance doorways have been blocked, and a new doorway was opened in the south gable in 1984. Above this doorway, there is access to a former bay loft. Inside, much of the original structure has been filled with breeze blocks, but two drainage channels remain in the floor. The interior also includes a suspended ceiling added in 1984. The roof consists of tie beams and four pairs of square section Queen posts, which have arched braces connecting to a single tier of butt purlins and to the collars. Only the two central pairs of Queen posts still have their braces attached to the collars.
