Description
The Lodge is a large house built around 1800 and later. It is constructed of gault brick and features a black pantiled roof. The main block has five bays and is two storeys high, with a slightly recessed service wing on the east side and a recessed Victorian extension on the west side and rear. The façade includes five bays of sash windows with glazing bars, which are taller on the ground floor, and features skewback arches and blind boxes with surviving blinds.
The central doorcase is notable for its reeded half columns and fluted frieze with paterae, and it contains a raised and fielded panelled door topped with a traceried fanlight. There is also a doorcase at the rear, which is now enclosed, featuring pilasters and a fluted frieze. The Victorian extension includes a two-storey canted bay on the west façade. The house has hipped roofs and two main stacks located on the rear wall. Inside, some doors have circular panels and are topped with Corinthian entablatures with pulvinated friezes. Additionally, there is a Victorian conservatory on the west side of the main block.
