Description
The White House is a house located on The Street in Bramerton, dating from the early 18th century and rebuilt in the late 18th century. It is constructed of whitewashed brick and features a roof made of black glazed pantiles. The building has two storeys and a dormer attic, arranged in three bays.
The central entrance is a 20th-century door set within a panelled round-topped doorcase that has deep reveals, topped by a five-vaned fanlight and a flat hood. To the left of the door, a pilaster strip extends up to the eaves, while to the right, there are patches of early 18th-century brickwork. The windows consist of 20th-century casements, with those on the ground floor set in reduced openings and all positioned under segmental arches. The eaves feature a timber moulded cornice with modillions. The gabled roof includes a central gabled dormer.
Additionally, there is a two-storey early 19th-century extension to the north, which has a hipped roof and shares similar detailing with the main block.
