Description
The Church of All Saints is a Grade I listed building located on Church Road in Aldburgh. It features a chancel from the 14th century, while the nave, west tower, and south porch were built in the 15th century. The structure is made of flint rubble with stone dressings and has slate roofs.
The tall west tower has diagonal buttresses at the bottom stage and a slightly recessed bell-stage that includes two-light, four-centred arch bell openings. The tower is topped with stepped battlements, flushwork panelling, and pinnacles supported by small flying buttresses. There is also flushwork panelling at the base of the tower on either side of the west doorway, which is above a three-light Perpendicular window. The nave features Perpendicular windows, and the south porch retains its original roof.
Inside, the church has a 15th-century arch-braced nave roof with an embattled wall plate. There is a late 15th-century screen dado with tracery and remnants of color. Additionally, two 15th-century benches at the west end of the nave have poppyheads on the bench ends.
