Description

Island House is a 17th century timber-frame house, with an Ordnance Survey date of 1684. The exterior is plastered, featuring a pantile attic roof with gable ends and an off-centre brick chimney stack. The house has two storeys and an attic, with an attic window located in the end gable. The first floor is partly jettied at the front and has a long range of six windows, which are modern casements. There is a late 19th century gabled porch situated in front of the stack. At the south end, there is a long and low single storey plus attic wing, also with a pantile roof.
