Description
The building known as the Piggery, located 60 yards south of Flordon Hall, is a former dwelling that may have served as a dower house for Flordon Hall. It dates from around 1600 and is constructed of brick with a corrugated asbestos roof. The structure has two storeys and an attic, featuring a chamfered off-set at mid height. There are several original window openings, although many have been blocked or reduced, and these have stuccoed reveals and plain rectangular hood-moulds at the ground floor. The gable parapets have been rebuilt. Inside, there are remains of one flight of the original stair leading from the first floor to the attic, which has solid baulk treads. The principal beams and joists are intact, but the floorboards have been removed. The roof is supported by butt-purlins.
