Description

The Post Office, located at No. 38 in Hingham Market Place, is a shop and house built in the early 19th century. It features a painted brick exterior and a low-pitched pantile roof with gabled ends. The building is two storeys high and has a long range with five widely spaced sash windows that include glazing bars. No. 40 has a ground floor multi-pane shop window, while Nos. 39 and 40 are adorned with pilastered doorcases topped with cornices, leading to panelled and glazed doors. No. 38 has a smaller shop window with plate glass and a glazed door. The building also includes brick chimney stacks.
