Description
The Rectory is a 17th-century timber-framed building that was rendered and remodeled in 1871. It features a steep pantile roof with gabled ends, which have shaped and pierced barge boards. The structure has two storeys and an attic, with five window bays that contain 19th-century sash windows. The central bay projects and has a shaped gable with a finial, a panelled door, and a three-light mullion/transom window on the first floor. Above the doorway is a cornice with a strapwork frieze. The ground floor projects on both the left and right sides in painted brick. At the rear, there are large mid-19th-century plastered and painted brick wings with hipped slate roofs and sash windows. Inside the 17th-century front range, the ceiling beams have ovolo moulded chamfers and carved stops.
