Description

The wind pump, dating from around 1560, is located approximately 330 yards south-west of the Church of St Margaret on Pulham Road in Starston. It was used to supply water to Starston Place. The structure is a small circular building made of red brick, featuring a tarred roof. At the top, there is an iron post that supports four single shutter spring sails with leading boards, along with a twin rudder. The wind pump operates a reciprocating pump through a crank on the windshaft.
