Description
Number 17 Old Market Place is a 18th-century building located in Harleston. It is finished in stucco and features a gable-ended roof covered with black glazed pantiles. The eaves overhang and are adorned with a dentil cornice. The building has two storeys and three sash windows with glazing bars on the front. A prominent central doorway is framed by Ionic fluted columns that support a dentilled pediment, which is set in a deep frieze with a cornice above. The door itself is a fielded panel type. To the right, there is a Victorian shop that includes a cornice and pilasters. The left side of the building, which faces Old Market Place, is brick-faced and has four windows that are sashes without glazing bars, along with vermiculated keyblocks. There is also a doorway with a hood supported by console brackets, and an attic window in the gable at the right end.
