Description

This late 18th and early 19th century shop and house is constructed of painted brick, with a low-pitched roof featuring gabled ends covered in black glazed pantiles and wide eaves. The building is three storeys high and has three windows on the front elevation, featuring flat rubbed brick arches above sash windows with glazing bars. The second-floor windows are smaller than those below. The front door is set off-centre within a doorcase featuring reeded pilasters and an entablature with a moulded cornice, leading to a fielded panel door with glazed upper panels. To the right of the door is a large mid-19th century shop front, characterized by narrow pilasters and an entablature with a bracketed cornice. A two-storey wing extends to the right, with two sash windows with glazing bars on the first floor, and a continuation of the shop front and large double doors on the ground floor. This wing has painted brickwork, brick dentil eaves, and a pantile gable-ended roof, with the end wall weatherboarded.
