Description
The garden walls at Keswick Old Hall date from around 1600 and the 18th century. Constructed of red brick, they stand approximately 2.3 meters high and feature added buttresses. The wall runs along the roadside and returns to the north, enclosing the garden. The roadside wall and the west return are built in English bond and English garden wall bond from around 1600, and they have an embattled design with shaped coping bricks, some of which have been renewed. To the north of the west return, there is an attached pier from the 18th century, which is topped with a stone urn. The attached return to the east, also from the 18th century, is made in Flemish bond and includes pilaster strips and an arched gateway to the north.
