Description
The Mill House is an 18th-century millhouse constructed of red brick that has been colourwashed white, topped with black glazed pantiles on a shallow pitched hipped roof. The building is double depth with three bays and three storeys. It features symmetrical wide eaves supported by modillions, and has replica flush sash windows with glazing bars set within segmental arches. The central bay projects forward and includes a doorcase with reeded bowed Corinthian pilasters and a pediment, a six-panelled door with panelled reveals, and a rectangular fanlight with glazing bars.
To the left, there is a two-storey addition with a semi-circular facade and an embattled parapet. This addition has a doorway with a reeded entablature and pilaster strips on the jambs, a part-glazed door with glazing bars, and a flush sash window with glazing bars and a segmental arch on the first floor. The right return features a semi-circular flat-roofed extension made of gault brick that has also been colourwashed white, with a French window and a two-light casement in a blocked doorway to the right. The building has two cross stacks located at the centre rear.
Inside, there is an open string staircase with a curved handrail and stick balusters. Additionally, there is an attached curved garden wall to the right, built in header bond.
