Description
This ha-ha, located approximately 500 metres west of Cavick House, dates from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of brick laid in Flemish bond, featuring brick-on-edge coping. The retaining wall, which is somewhat obscured by undergrowth, runs north-south between existing brick piers of garden walls, connecting at both ends with butt joins. The north and south ends start with swept walls that transition into straight sections. The center of the wall bows out to the west and includes remains of steps at the center. Additionally, there are raking buttresses at intervals on the exterior (west) face of the bowed section.
