Description

East House and West House are a pair of houses built against a garden wall at Cavick House, dating mainly from the early to mid-19th century, with significant alterations in the 20th century. The houses are constructed of brick with pantile and slate roofs.

East House is a two-storey block. The early 19th century design includes a deep entrance outshut to the left, featuring a panelled door under a sloping roof. The front elevation has a cross casement window with glazing bars under a segmental head. A painted, blind two-light cross casement is located on the first floor. The roof is hipped.

West House is a long range of varying dates, beginning in the mid-19th century at the east end, and extending piecemeal westward into the 20th century. The roof slopes upwards towards the garden wall it adjoins. A 20th century door is present, and two 19th-century casement windows are located on the ground floor east side, while the remaining windows are 20th-century replacements. Two ridge stacks are visible.

A short piece of garden wall to the west, situated between the houses and stables, is also included in the listing. The rear garden wall is pierced with window openings.
