Description

Crow Hall is a former farmhouse dating to the 17th century, with a full-height side extension added around 1980. It is constructed as a timber frame, rendered and underbuilt, with a brick and flint gable end and a thatched roof. The building is two storeys high with an attic. A later central front door has been added. The original section has two 3-light windows with metal casements on the first floor, set within original openings. Other windows are 20th century replacements, likely in original openings. The masonry gable end features six small openings, five of which are blocked, on either side of the stack. A row of six brick-lined recesses is present, possibly nesting boxes or bee-boles. There are gable-end stacks. Internally, the original section displays six jowled wall posts and one ovolo moulded spine beam with run-out stops. A winding stair is located to the side of each stack; the southern stair provides access only to the first floor. Several original doors remain, along with one surviving cock's head hinge. The roof structure comprises four principal trusses with butt-purlins and collars.
