Description

Gurney’s Manor is a late 18th-century house situated on the west side of the Attleborough Road in Hingham. The house is constructed of red brick with a flipped pantile roof and a moulded eaves cornice. The overall design is of two storeys, with a slightly projecting central section featuring two windows flanked by two further windows. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars. The central doorway is distinguished by Tuscan engaged columns, an open pediment, and a semi-circular fanlight with radial glazing bars; it has a fielded panel door. The interior includes late Georgian fireplaces. A brick-faced wing dating back to the 17th century is located at the rear of the house and features chambered ceiling beams with run-out stops.
