Description

Steamlet Farmhouse is an early 17th century timber-frame house which was later encased in red brick with blue headers in the late 19th century. It has a steep black glazed pantile roof with gabled ends. A tall brick chimney stack is located off-centre. The farmhouse is two storeys high with an attic. It has three windows, featuring late 19th century 3 and 4-light casements. There are three small late 19th century gables with blind attic windows, decorated with pierced barge boards and finials. A late 19th century brick porch, with matching barge boards, is situated in front of the stack. Inside, there are chamfered ceiling beams, one of which has carved stops. A late 19th century wing was added to the rear of the building.
