Description

The Lilacs is a former school built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed from colour-washed brick and features a slate roof. The building is single storey with a symmetrical facade that has five bays, a central gabled porch, and four three-light casement windows, all set beneath rectangular hood moulds. The porch has a four-centred archway with a hood mould. The roof is shallow and has crow-stepped gables. There is one central axial stack and an additional stack on the rear pitch of the north gable-end. The Lilacs is included for its group value with The Old Hall and the Church of St. Mary the Virgin.
